RIP our dear friend. Today was D'Mario's wake, only Lex & I attended today. Tomorrow is the funeral & we will all be there. It was a beautiful viewing and very emotional for all. It was also a reunion of families from the hospital, how quick we all feel normal being with eachother. Lex & Briahnna were the only two in there wheelchair's, but they are both so gorgeous, they are just shining stars.
Lex & Maris are sound sleeping, Tessa is drawing a picture for Samantha( D'mario's Mom) and I am ready to close my eyes too.
As we say our prayers tonight remember how lucky we are to kiss our children goodnight.... XXX&000's Donna

We give her a IV drug to help her bones, but it makes her feel like shit. It is a side effect, I checked with Vince's parents and they say it should get better tomorrow. All the suffering she goes through to get better. She feels like she has the worst flu ever, the chills are causing the leg to shack which in turn causes more pain. It was a day of balancing pain pills, nausea meds, and keeping her comfortable. She spent the most part of the day sleeping, she has finally closed her eyes now,Thank you Lord! Last night we saw every hour pass, she was that uncomfortable !
Thank you Susie for the beautiful flowers. We got so used to Yaya not being able to have them, but now that she is done with chemo, they really brightened our day!

Today was spent getting the new drug Zometa, we pray it will help her bones get stronger. It was a long day in the hospital & seeing Dr Bowman. Surgery is being scheduled for the end of Feb. We must keep Yaya down & keep the leg from breaking. The titanium prosthesis has begun the movement within the little bone it is attached too. On a good note we saw Vince today, tomorrow is his 12th birthday. Happy B-day, enjoy Dave & Busters our friend. We were stuck in the hallways & unit for an hour visiting families & our favorite nurses. New drugs were prescribed to help keep her comfortable and the Zometa is making her feel like she has an awful case of the flu. But she still has that great Yaya smile and has drifted off to sleep FINALLY!!!!
Please keep in your prayers the families of children ... >> full...

Today our friend D'mario became an angel @ 7yo. He passed with the Best Mom in the world by his side Samantha. He fought a long hard battle since 2005, but was at pure peace and ready to be without pain. Please keep my girls in your prayers to get through this week, D'mario was very special to all my girls. We loved watching you race down the hospital corridors on your red bike with IV pole attached, giving the nurses hell. Or racing on the back patio with Nicole, we will forever see that smile. And that night we had Oscars for dinner. Rest in peace our young friend and you will always be in our hearts..... lesSbaDd forever.....
Also my friend from Sharp MRI Debbie lost her son Eric to the battle, he was 21yo. Debbie was with Alexis for her first MRI that awful first night of diagnosis & kept ... >> full...

2 day was a good day. The pain was under control & Yaya figured if she stays down it helps. Thank the Lord Tessa & Maris are out of school for two days & helped me. Even Kida(the dog) was put into action, Yaya was convinced she could put the leash on Kida & she could pull her in the wheelchair. Of course it didn't work, but I was there to help. Please keep Yaya in your prayers & Dr Bowman that he finds a solution! I go to sleep tonight knowing tomorrow will bring a new hope for my family & our Nation...

The wait for a solution is the worst part on nights like these. One wrong twist and screaming pain. It has been such a long night, but finally she has closed her eyes. To see Yaya in so much pain again is gut wrenching. And sleep is not what can be found. I know everyday her pain is increasing, but we are a weeks away from the Dr's having a solution. Please keep her in your prayers and for a brilliant Dr. to know the answer. Lord Help Us!!!!! Donna

Dr Bowman has finally figured out all of Alexis' pain. Her Titanium prosthesis has failed and will need to be replaced. She has been in a great deal of pain, but that too has finally come under control with the ultimate pain med. Last night was the first night of peace she has had in a month. She is back to not being able to use the leg, because it could break. So it is wheelchair & crutches again. We were asked to give the Dr's 30days to try an figure out how to fix her leg. Yes! in true Yaya luck, she is the only known patient that this has happened too. So Dr B has sent out urgent e-mail around the country/world to get help. Please continue keeping Alexis in your prayers & her Doctors that the will find a solution for her..

Today was the first time I felt normal. Yaya joined her softball team and coached first base for three games. She had a huge smile on her face and loves being around her Chaos family. Maris, Tessa & I cuddled in the stands and cheered the girls on. We saw many friends on other teams & everyone was so welcoming to us. The day did take its toll on her leg, but she said " The pain is worth it"!! We made it home in time to cheer the Charger's on to a great victory. Sproles is Lex's favorite player, from all his visits in the hospital with her. I am just so thankful for a day like today. We all needed it..

Happy New Year To All:
We had prayed this year would be one without pain and constant Dr's visits. But that is not how 2008 ended yesterday. The effects of Chemo did damage to Alexis' Right ankle/foot. She has been in constant pain and walking was becoming an issue. After MRI & X-ray of the area, the bones are so frail that she is now in a walking cast for 8wks. We ran around the last day of the year for Dr's, but she awoke this morning with relief from the pain. So it is always a true gift on days that start that way.She has been so exhausted since she left the hospital in Dec., but I am praying we will see her with more strength soon. Friday is another Dr's appt. & I hope we will get more answers. Please keep Alexis in your prayers... Love to all: Donna

Scans are NED (No Evidence of Disease)
it is a term that is important. All have to be repeated in Feb. 2009, but it is the true X-mas gift. It has been a rough two weeks, full of tests and emotions of getting use to not being in the hospital. New meds. have helped control to day to day pain! We are thankful her battle with Chemo is complete. But our friends are still in the battle with Osteosarcoma. Hang in there, Tate(who has his final chemo12/31) Vince,
Briana, Sam, Emily X2 & Christian. Keep the faith and conquer the beast..I did get to wash Alexis' hair for the first time in 8 mos.... It grows everyday. Merry Christmas to all: Love Donna & Family
