Officially two long years since Alexis was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. It has really been a week of reflecting, celebrating, tears and more appointments. On the 23rd was when her tumor popped out, 24th a day @ Scripps RB, 25th admittance to Children's and 26th biopsy.. Our lives forever changing. But everyday I awake with my daughter in this world, I can never have a bad day, I can deal with anything.
Finally hyperbaric work has begun, so 1 1/2hrs a day she is locked in to the chamber for the next 21days, then another 10-20 days but only for a few days in the week. She spent most of today sleeping, some pain from the long car rides and the fun times of the week. Tessa has had two softball games with a home run, triple and many singles. Tomorrow she will add to her weeks totals.

It has been a down pour of rain here in Diego, the worst I have ever seen. And then after a day of doctor appts in the rain lead to a down pour of tears.. It has taken me a few days to collect my thoughts and attempt a post. Great news first: Started laser treatments 3x's a wk with Dr Specht in Encinitas to try and kill the infection that way.
second: X-rays @ Dr Yaszays looked great, no walking for another 5mos and he took his time to explain it all. He is a Ewings sarcoma survivor and helps us all a great deal.. Still looking for a new Ortho Oncologist, but no one wants to let her keep her leg.. So Lex is battling down for an extra inning game and we are supporting her.
Third: off to Dr Pong the infectious disease specialist, PICC line got ... >> full...

Stuck in Children's Hospital, getting sick of this place after TWO YEARS. But we FINALLY recieved the information as to WHY the prosthesis is not staying attached to the bone. INFECTION, still collecting info, gathering info and very pissed off.
Yaya got a PICC line placed yesterday so her antibiotics can go in twice a day, with an unknown end date at this time.... To keep typing is just creating more anger for what my daughter has had to endure... But after being tortured yesterday, she is smiling and looks beautiful in her braids...... She has a new best friend, Vic.... Please add Vic to your prayer list, he is 9 and was hit by a car in Sept.... They bring eachother much joy.
It is hard to leave Alexis and get to a computer... It is constant care and a constant stream of doctors.
Also pray Dr Pong, Yaszay ... >> full...

Alexis' pain is next to none ( which is a first for this surgery), she had a very long time in the operating room and then slept until about noon today. She is finally smiling (like always) and chatting. Exhausted from this process, but doing better so far.. More bone was removed and now the constant prays for the bone to grow into this prosthesis. Sorry for the delay, it has been non-stop and unable to get to a computer.
I will update soon!

Surgery is set for Thurs. Dec. 10th. My kittens are keeping watch over my leg and bring great amounts of entertainment for me... They were my 17th birthday gift from my Mom & sisters... The white on is Miss Cali and Cam is the gray one.. Please keep me in your prayers and after I see Dr B, I will have more details.

We have again started down the road of Alexis' leg failing. She is back on crutches and awaiting another major surgery #3 to save the leg. Please keep us in your prayers that over these next difficult weeks we can get through another major surgery and the long recovery period. She is finally resting tonight after a bomb shell of a day.
Love & Happy Thanksgiving to all..

Surgery success, ports (lines in her chest) have been removed. She is sore, but sleeping now... It has been nothing but a rollercoaster ride of emotions on this journey. Dr Bickler did a great job today, next week she will see Dr Willert & Dr Bowman for followup.. She has major scans again the first week of August, say prayers for NED!
We will keep you updated. PLease continue prayers for Vince & Ty who have both finished their final chemo's & Briahnna who had lung surgery today...Also BUbba was injured, but went home from the hospital today. Life is so unfair that these kids must have so much pain & suffering. Have a Happy 4th to all.

The final pathology report from surgery is No Cancer. We are so excited and happy! It has been such a long year, we forget what happiness feels like. Today Dom, Lex & I heard the great news from Dr B. Her staples were removed and smiles are big as can be. It is the best feeling in the world and we finally feel like we are on the road to healing her soul instead of constantly trying to save the leg.. She is walking and ready to start physical therapy. Thank you all foremost for the prayers, they have been answered. And for all the gifts, flowers, texts & calls. Please continue to keep in your prayers Vince who is waiting to find his new chemotherapy course and that Dr Pete Anderson in Houston will guide his care. Also Connor (6yo) who is fighting his final battle, may he soon ... >> full...
